The NRI Institute of Health Sciences Associates of Sciences in Nursing (ASN) Degree is a concept based program. Our unique method and strategies for learning focuses on individual growth as the foundation for all courses.
We offer two paths for our ASN Degree; a concept based program of study and an Advanced Placement Licensed Practical Nurse to ASN track.

Your Gateway to Success
The Associate of Science in Nursing Degree is designed to prepare students for the role of a professional registered nurse in a variety of health care settings.
The program of study is based on nursing concepts and skills, which enable the nurse to contribute to health promotion, maintenance, and restoration of clients across the lifespan.

Degree Outcomes
Upon completion of the Associate of Science in Nursing Program, graduates will:

Advocate for the patient, family and the community in ways that reflect self-determination and cultural diversity across the lifespan, paying close attention to patient centered care and their desired outcomes.

Use clinical reasoning and knowledge obtained at NRI Institute of Health Science alongside of evidence-based practice outcomes, and research based policies and procedures as the basis for decision making and comprehensive, safe patient care.

Coordinate, collaborate, and communicate with diverse patients, patient families, and interdisciplinary health care teams to deliver and evaluate care as a caring advocate of safe and qualitative care within the community context.

Adhere to standards of practice within legal, ethical and regulatory frameworks of a professional nurse.

Demonstrate the knowledge of delegation, management and leadership skills and behavior that reflects the values and ethics of the nursing profession.

Demonstrate skills in using patient care technologies and information systems that support safe nursing practice.

Take and pass the NCLEX Exam.
Career Information
With the Associate of Science in Nursing Degree, graduates are eligible to apply for license as a
Registered Nurse (R.N.) by taking the NCLEX-RN exam.
Registered nurses are employed in a wide variety of health care settings, including, but not limited to, acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, and community-based agencies.
Graduates in the Program of Study for the Concept Based Associate of Science in Nursing Degree will be required to obtain a license from the Florida Board of Nursing or the State Board of Nursing where they seek employment.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of Registered Nurses is projected to grow 9 % from 2020 to 2030.

Minimum Requirements for Enrollment
ASN Concept Based Degree

A minimum of 2.25 GPA for nursing required academic core courses if transferring

A minimum of 2.5 GPA cumulative high school GPA for students without prior college courses (GED will
be used if applicable)
Advance Placement (LPN to ASN track)
In addition to the above, students who are seeking advanced placement as a current Licensed Practical Nurse in the nursing program must have:

Graduated from a state approved practical nursing program. If the LPN degree was completed at another school an official transcript must be sent to NRI Institute of Health Sciences before the start of the Student's first semester at NRI Institute of Health Sciences.

A current active license as a practical nurse.
Tuition and Fees
Total Tuition = $53,480
Total Tuition includes fees for program courses, books, labs, clinicals, and liability insurance.
